Pretend to care
"He had one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life... It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself..."
We met freshman year of high school. Our assigned seats were right next to each other. I looked over and saw him playing tic-tac-toe by himself, so I teased him about it. We were best friends ever since.
I worked hard to keep him in my life.
We dated for three months when we were 15. We both admit that was a terrible relationship, but it only made us closer.
We don’t see a need to fight much. We talk any of our problems out.
